Options for Every Type of Project

Craftwright Quilts has a wide range of options available to suit every type of project, whether a baby quilt that will be washed repeatedly through the years or an heirloom wedding quilt designed to last for generations. We are happy to review your quilt top and provide a consultation to make sure we achieve your goals.

All projects are subject to a minimum charge of $85, due to the cost of loading, setting up and unloading each client’s project. With our extended frame size we are happy to combine multiple projects into one loading, where possible, thereby reducing your overall cost.

Two baby quilts could be completed at the same time, or placemats and table runners could be combined with other smaller projects to maximize your quilting dollar.

If your quilt has fullness or puckers, we will do our best to work those in discretely, but we cannot guarantee that all fullness or puckers can be “quilted out”. We reserve the right to create discrete seams at pre-existing seam lines in order to take in fullness or puckers, as needed.

Edge to Edge Quilting

Our E2E quilting prices are 3 cents per inch for simple designs to 5 cents per inch for complex designs. This pricing reflects the density of the quilting and the time required to execute the design across the quilt. The total square inches is found by measuring the length times the width of your quilt. Our available designs are available here and you can search on simple or complex within the database, as well as by different types of motifs. If there is a E2E design you want us to use that is not in our current database please let us know. Depending on the price of the design, we may be able to add it to our database at a minimal cost due to our partnerships with most leading quilting design sources.

Straight Line Quilting

If you want horizontal or vertical straight line quilting across your entire quilt top, the pricing starts at 3 cents per square inch and increases to 4 cents per square inch for lines closer than 2 inches apart.

Custom Quilting

Custom quilting can take on many variations, including:

Borders

A custom border combined with an E2E design on the internal portion of the quilt
applique
E2E quilting around applique or EPP motifs

Blocks and Motifs

Custom quilting for key blocks or motifs, combined with E2E or meanders around the remaining portion of the quilt

Digitized Designs

Custom quilting, whether free-motion quilting or rulerwork, combined with computerized digital designs

Full Custom

Full custom quilting which includes stitch in the ditch, freemotion quilting, rulerwork, quilt marking, and thread changes
Light custom quilting, or custom quilting combined with E2E or computerized digital designs, can range from 5 – 6 cents per inch, while full custom quilting can range from 7 to 10 cents per inch.
All custom quilting projects require a video conferencing consultation in order to ensure we meet every expectation. The minimum charge for custom quilting is $150.

Thread

Glide thread is included with each project at no cost. Additional thread choices such as Aurifil, Kimono Silk, Microquilter and other options are available at an additional cost. Metallic thread may also be available depending on the project and the quilting design to be used. We cannot accept customer-provided thread.

Batting

We offer multiple batting options at prices significantly less than retail. Using our batting also ensures you only pay for what you need. We stock:

  • Quilters Dream 80/20 White (93 inches wide)
  • Quilters Dream Wool (93 inches wide)
  • Winline Bamboo Blend (93 inches wide)

We also have business accounts with most major batting manufacturers, so if there is a specific batting type you wish to use for your project please let us know and we will provide an estimate for the cost.

You are free to provide your own batting if it meets the height and width requirements for your project (5 extra inches on each side).

Finishing Services

We provide a wide range of finishing services to ensure your project meets every expectation.

Trimming

We recommend that we do not trim your quilt in order to ensure that the quilting is fully stabilized in its journey back home to you. If you are limited in space at your home or have physical challenges that prevent you from trimming your quilt, we are happy to do so for $20.

Purchase Binding

Craftwright Quilts supports a woman-owned small business that provides pre-made binding using fabric from some of the most popular fabric designers, including Tula Pink. We can provide binding at $3 per yard.

Binding

If you provide your own binding rather than purchase from us, we will attach your binding to the front of your quilt by machine for $4 per yard. You would then simply hand sew the binding to the back of your quilt. Please keep in mind that we do not trim and square the quilt before applying the binding with our longarm machine. We may not be able to apply the binding if we believe your project should be trimmed and blocked prior to binding. We do not apply binding by machine to both the front and the back of the quilt. If you want us to hand sew the binding to the back of your quilt, we charge $30 per hour to trim the quilt and hand sew the binding.

Preparation and Repair Services

In order to ensure the best results for your project, sometimes quilts require preparation or repairs. Preparation services include thread trimming, pressing, or anything else that might be required to ensure success. Repair services can include repairing ripped seams or resewing borders or other seams to reduce fullness. These services are provided for $30 per hour.
These prices are for your use to estimate the cost of your project. We will confirm your quote and require a 50% deposit before placing your quilt on the schedule. WE will notify you when your quilt is complete and the balance is due upon pickup or prior to shipping.

Shipping

We ship all quilts via the United States Postal Service, using Flat Rate boxes, where possible. We will include tracking and $200 insurance in the cost. Postage will be calculated and included in the final invoice, which must be paid before shipment. If you require additional insurance please let us know upon intake. When shipping to Craftwright Quilts we recommend tracking and a minimum of $50 insurance.
